How to Evaluate a Source

I found my article online on the Odyssey.  The Odyssey is a site where it democratizes the content which allows people an opportunity to share whats important to people with honest perspective. My article called ” Social Media’s impact On Society” was published August 16, 2016. This article talks about the pros and cons of social media and the effects it has on society.

This source does provide information relevant to my topic since in our third essay we are going to be writing about the impact of the internet good and bad and since this article talks about the pros and cons of social media it will be beneficial. The thing I would be wary about that is a little biased towards the authors thinking in a way. This article is supported by evidence. The author chooses to show the evidence by a means of a side story and the story goes to support what the author is trying to say.

To evaluate my source I used the CRAAP test. The crap test is a way to see if the article is credible by checking to see if it fits the criteria: currency, relevance, authority,  accuracy, and purpose.. I’d say that yes the article is credible after my evaluation.

  1. Paige, I like how you are approaching this assignment, and I like how you assessed the ways in which the author used evidence to support his or her ideas. I am excited to read your paper. Keep up the good work.
